Massey Ferguson has added six new models to its tractor line-up, with the 7S Mark 2 series spanning 170 to 245hp — but production will not start until the first quarter of 2027.
The new range does not replace the existing 7S. It sits alongside it, bridging the gap between the 7S and the larger 8S Xtra models.
Marco Lombardi, Massey Ferguson's sales director for Europe and the Middle East, described the 7S Mark 2 as "an additional series to our offering".
"It compliments the offering in this category, so it's not the evolution of the MF 7S, and it's not replacing any existing model," Lombardi said.
"We are sure that the 7S Mark 2 is introducing a real step forward in styling, comfort and technology."
Engine and transmission
The powertrain pairing is the standout technical story. The 7S Mark 2 combines AGCO Power's Core75 engine with the ML180 Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission (CVT) — two components whose development histories have never previously crossed paths.
The Core75 was developed specifically for the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 tractors, while the ML180 comes straight out of the 700 Vario Gen6 machines.
The six-cylinder, 7.5L AGCO Power Core75 engine won the Engine of the Year award in 2023 at the annual Diesel Progress Summit.
The CVT offers a maximum speed of 57km/h, emergency brake features and a new automatic parking brake system as standard. A four-speed power-take-off (PTO) also comes standard.
Hydraulics are high-capacity, delivering a maximum oil flow of up to 190L per minute — a figure that matters for growers running demanding implements or multiple services simultaneously.
Cab
The 7S Mark 2 features a redesigned version of the MF 8S cab, retaining the 3.4m³ interior space.
The cab includes the 6.6m² glass area and Protect-U design, which provides 15cm of space separating the cab from the engine. That gap is intended to improve visibility while cutting noise, vibration and heat transmission for the operator.
At the heart of the cab sits the new Datatronic 6 display, a 12in touchscreen terminal that is double the size of the previous Datatronic 5 system.
The Datatronic 6 offers higher resolution, limitless user profiles and customisable tiled carousels, and can display a map, data management and guidance technology at once.
The tractor can come with up to four cameras, including front and rear units along with cameras for monitoring position on the tractor, trailer or implements.
LED lighting is standard, with four upgrade packages available. The maximum configuration runs to 27 LED lights — eight on the bonnet and 19 on the cab.
Practical touches include built-in storage, a factory-installed phone holder that mounts on the armrest or terminal rail, and an optional fridge.
Precision capabilities
The 7S Mark 2 will be the first tractor range supplied from the factory with PTx's FarmENGAGE system.
The next-generation farm operations management software is compatible with all farm machinery brands — a significant point for mixed fleets, where data lock-in to a single manufacturer has long frustrated farm managers.
It transfers data wirelessly for management and monitoring through the integrated telemetry system. All tractor, machinery, field, cropping and task management data can be shared by USB or through the cloud.
All 7S Mark 2 models have access to Massey Ferguson's full technology package and a range of MF By You options. Customer services include MF Care, AGCO Finance, AGCO Parts, the MF Always Running courtesy fleet and MF How To online video tutorials.
Timings
Production begins in the first quarter of 2027. Before that, the machine debuts publicly at EIMA 2026, the international trade show for farm machinery in Bologna, Italy, running from November 10-14.
First deliveries of the Massey Ferguson 7S Mark 2 are set to start in spring 2027 — giving buyers in the 170-245hp bracket more than a year to weigh the new series against the existing 7S and 8S Xtra before committing.
